Turkish Coffee, Mussels, & Simit

Turkish coffee is an iconic beverage, finely ground coffee beans simmered in a special pot, resulting in a strong and aromatic brew. Served in a small cup, the grounds settle at the bottom, making it integral to fortune-telling traditions.

Mussels, or “Midye Dolma,” are a popular street food in Turkey. Steamed or fried mussels are opened, filled with a flavorful mixture of rice, herbs, and spices, then served with a squeeze of lemon. They offer a unique blend of textures and flavors, often enjoyed as a quick and savory snack.

Simit, the “sesame bagel,” is a circular bread encrusted with sesame seeds, crispy on the outside and soft inside. A common street food, it’s perfect on its own or with cheese and tea, embodying the essence of Turkish snacking.
